Wareing Buildings begins next phase of construction at Whitehills
Steel-frame specialists Wareing Buildings has begun a new phase of development at Whitehills Business Park in Blackpool to deliver 10 commercial ‘hybrid’ units for Henco International.
The starter units for new or small businesses looking for high quality commercial premises from which to operate range from 1,300 sq ft to 2,260 sq ft over two floors.
Wareing Buildings is providing the design and build of the warehouses, with the completed developments featuring a checkerboard-style external cladding finish in keeping with previous units it has constructed at Whitehills.
This is the latest in a series of projects that Wareing Buildings, based in Preston, has completed on behalf of commercial development and investment company Henco at Whitehills Business Park. In 2021, it completed the design and build of three warehouses at Cropper Close, totalling 20,000 sq ft of commercial space, which became fully occupied later in the year. In 2019, Wareing Buildings was appointed to deliver nine units at Juniper Court totalling 13,000 sq ft, and two years earlier, it completed a four-unit development on Brooklands Way, spanning 5,500 sq ft. Work on this latest phase will complete in the winter.
Matt Hastwell, senior draughtsman at Wareing Buildings, said “Warehouse units like these offer a huge amount of opportunity to those who are just starting out in business. You might have been operating from your kitchen table or garage, but the starter units Henco offers provide a low-risk, high-quality option to take a leap, to elevate your business to that next level.
“The designs we provide to Henco appeal to the mass market because they’re essentially an empty shell that can come to life once a business owner steps inside with their vision. The units we’ve already completed on behalf of Henco are now home to local businesses who have incredible futures ahead of them, and there’s such a variety of companies operating from them that people visit and end up spending hours of their time here.
“We’ll always be proud to say we’ve played such an integral role in delivering Henco’s dream for this site, and our relationship is going from strength to strength as a result. We work to a clear and concise strategy, which has opportunities for businesses at the very heart of it all. We’re looking forward to seeing who will take up home in these units once the project completes later this year.”
Chris Hibbert, managing director at Henco International, said: “Whitehills Business Park offers a great opportunity for businesses operating on the Fylde Coast with new, high quality buildings and a central location with easy access, just a stone’s throw from the regions motorway network.
“The park continues to grow in occupier numbers, accommodating a diverse range of businesses. With more than 2,000 new homes scheduled for development within a two-mile radius and the long awaited M55 link road directly connecting Whitehills at Junction 4 to Lytham St Anne’s now under construction and due for completion next year, Whitehills provides a fantastic business location for the area.”
Whitehills Business Park provides easy access to the M55, which joins the M6 motorway, allowing ease of commuting throughout the North West and beyond. Commuting options are also available to the surrounding towns of Blackpool, Lytham St Anne’s and Lytham.
