Potato store and workshop building, 60.1m long, 21m wide, 5.5m high to eaves. Canopy each side 6.5m wide. The new building has replaced some existing buildings that were too small for modern agricultural practices, part of our contract was to demolish the existing buildings.
Cladding on the new building is in composite sheets, consisting of PVC coated box profile steel sheets and 40mm thick insulation. The roof of the building overhangs at each end, to form a “Shadow-line”. The gutters are PVC coated pressed steel, to match the cladding. Doors are electrically operated, sectional overheads, with PVC coated outer skin to match the cladding.
The building has an internal division, also clad with composite sheets, to separate the potato store from the workshop. The potatoes are stored in boxes. The canopy in front of the potato store section is used as a buffer store, for empty boxes, or boxes on the way to the grading line. The workshop is for maintenance of the farm vehicles, tractors and machinery. The canopy in front of the workshop gives additional cover, for working on plant and protects the doorways to the workshop.
