Agricultural Buildings: Framework & Cladding case studies
Ball, Hundred End
Ball, Hundred End
Insulated potato store, for storing potatoes in boxes. Size 24m long, 18m wide, 6m high to eaves. Roof cladding is in composite sheets, with box profile outer skin and 100mm thick insulation. Because it is a potato store, there are no roof lights in the roof. The gutters are a “Trim-line” type to match the Barge Boards and both are the same colour as the roof. The vertical cladding on the sides and the gables is in composite sheets, with box profile outer skin and 100mm thick insulation.
The front gable has an access door and a personnel door. The main door is electrically operated, sectional overhead, with PVC coated outer skin to match the cladding. The personnel door is steel constructed with a multi-point locking system and powder coated.
The rear gable has a louvred ventilation panel. Externally this is covered with a pressed steel cowel, to keep out the day light, this can be seen on one of the pictures. Internally, the customer has made an opening panel, to control the amount of ventilation.
Internally the building has pre-cast concrete panels to meet the bottom of the cladding, to give impact protection. Externally, the building has been finished off with brick work, to match other buildings on the property.
